photoblog image A Look At Lakeland (1 of quite a few)

A Look At Lakeland (1 of quite a few)

GRANGE IN BORROWDALE 5/7

I mentioned the little church at Grange yesterday and this gives you an idea of where the two images were taken from, but if you want to see more of the church, which is amazing inside, then you will have to look in here on Sunday. This image does show how nicely it fits in to the landscape, and, as Alan knows, there is a very fine tearoom opposite as well which Maureen and I took good advantage of.

This is a beautiful old church and it suites its surroundings very well Brian... i'm sure that Maureen enjoyed her treat at the tearoom in such wonderful place....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Isn't it in a fine setting, right on the edge of the village, and amazing inside. We both enjoyed the tearoom Peter, very important part of any outing smile
Such a lovely black drop for this lovely church!
Brian Walbey: Isn't it lovely, I would like to go there again.

It looks isolated, so I was surprised to hear there is a tea-room opposite, Brian
Brian Walbey: It is almost at the end of the village, there are buildings behind me on the other side of the road, and of course the tearoom smile

Are those gravestones making a wall here Brian?
Brian Walbey: No they are large slabs of what I presume is Granite Chad, plenty of that around there.

Lovely bucolic scene.
Brian Walbey: Gorgeous isn't it.
Such a beautiful setting!
Brian Walbey: Indeed it is Martin.
It really does fit right into the landscape, Brian. A lovely scene altogether. Looking forward to seeing Sunday's image of the interior.
Brian Walbey: Lovely spot isn't it. You might be pleasantly surprised when you see the inside of the church on Sunday.
A gorgeous little church, Brian. It suits so well the wonderful surrounding countryside. The lakes are spectacular.
Brian Walbey: It is in a very fine spot with the lovely outlook you mention.
It is a lovely little church Brian. Good shot with the hills in the background
Brian Walbey: Thanks Janet, if you do get time to look in on Sunday you might appreciate the inside, it is most unexpected.
Lovely landscape with a fine but modest church.
Brian Walbey: Indeed John, but far from modest inside.
This little church is so unique Brian! Superb capture.
Brian Walbey: You'll think it even more unique if you get time to look in on Sunday Richard.
I see you treat tea-rooms the way the Queen is said to treat toilets - always use it, you never know when the next one will come along smile
Brian Walbey: Lol. I often feel for the royals, they can't just pop off to the toilet like you or I could in the middle of something public.
