A Look At Lakeland (1 of quite a few)

EVENING STROLL BY DERWENTWATER 1/7

We took advantage of a beautiful sunny evening for a walk alongside the shore of Derwentwater, Keswick, to Friar’s Crag and back. This is a short record of that walk starting with a much taken image of a lake cruiser and the row boats pulled up on the shore after a busy days work.

Very peaceful scene, Brian.
wow, i like the finish on the timber of the boats, especially the longish one at the pier, a handsome craft
Brian Walbey: Yes lovely coloured wood that is helped by the low sun brining out the colours.
The mountains and the water are beautiful Brian... but these old ceadar strip boats are just great... mostly the one tied up on the jetty....petersmile
Brian Walbey: The large ones are the pleasure launches for trips round the lake and the others are rowboats for hire.

It is a fine thing to see proper graceful wooden craft such as these Brian
Brian Walbey: Good old fashioned workmanship Chris.

Fabulous POV for this end-of-day scene, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie. So many thousands of people have done this shot before me it is almost impossible to come up with anything different.
These traditional clinker built boats look good.
Brian Walbey: Don't they just Martin.

Boat Monday - a fine reminder of my own visit in the Lakes - a wonderful photo!
Brian Walbey: Glad to have brought back a memory Philine, perhaps there will be some more during this walk by by the lake this week.

This is a really beautiful photo, Brian. I've never seen such pretty boats. The small ones even have metalwork.
Brian Walbey: The large ones are the pleasure launches for trips round the lake and the others are rowboats for hire. All of course in the beautiful surroundings of the mountains and the early evening light.

Very, very nice indeed, Brian
Love the uniform colour of all the boats, Brian. The lovely setting is the crowning touch.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Beverly. So many thousands of people have done this shot before me it is almost impossible to come up with anything different.
Love the light and warm tones of the wood, Brian!
Brian Walbey: Yes a fine collection of colours.
Beautiful boats Brian and a fine picture of them
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, very fine old boats aren't they.

Brian Walbey: It was a lovely evening Janet as you will see from my pictures during the week.

Brian Walbey: Aren't they lovely Richard, much fine craftsmanship.
I like these boats very much - they look well-crafted

Aren't those hills just divine? Trying to get my bearings, is that Lord's Island with Catbells in the background?
Brian Walbey: Yes that is Catbells Mike, although I didn't get to fond out the names of the small islands.
