A Look At Lakeland (1 of quite a few)

WORDSWORTH HOUSE 4/5

Probably one of the grandest rooms in Wordsworth House at Cockermouth is the Dining Room on the ground floor. Once again, as with the Drawing Room, this is where important visitors would have been wined and dined, and indeed copies of the household accounts show regular payments for beer, wine, port, sherry, brandy and copious gallons of rum!  Today is my 1,800th.posting since joining Shutterchance.

1800...eh...well, Lad...in time you'll get the hang of it

[unless you are thick, like me, and will never understand the rules for SC navigation...]

That fish looks...umh...lonely!

[And...no daily progress report on Maureen! If you have nothing to say on that matter, then perhaps you could share a little self-deprecation on how you can't find a darned thing in the kitchen, or how you have to sleep on the downstairs sofa because your bedroom is now congested with clothes in dire need of a wash...or...]
that is some milestone Brian, testament to your grit and passion for photography. congratulations

Congratulations on your 1,800th post Brian.
Well done on reaching 1800. Fine picture. Old Wordsworth sounds a bit of a binge drinker.
Brian Walbey: I thought that about Wordsworth when they were telling us about it.

I like that the food is on the table waiting to be eaten. Congrats on 1800 very fine shots.
Brian Walbey: I don't know what the food is made of but it looks like the real thing.
congrats on reaching 1800, hope to reach your level brian smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Rani.
Congrats on your 18 hundredth Brian that is some milestone.
This sounds to have been a lively place to dine and drink.
Brian Walbey: Sounds like there was plenty of alcohol about Martin.

I thought this was your dining room, Brian. Well done on no. 1800.
Brian Walbey: I wish Alan.
different but nice
A grand place, indeed, to sit down to a delicious meal, Brian, and it appears that they had no shortage of libations in which to wash down the food as well. Congratulations on reaching your 1,800th. milestone!
Brian Walbey: Yes it does seem that they liked a drink or three in that household!
A good spacious dining room isn't it. Congrats on the 1,800th Brian
Congratulations Brian I think you should retire to the drawing room with a (small) glass of something!
Brian Walbey: Good idea Sally, but a big glass of that fine golden liquid from Scotland smile

This looks a charming room to eat in. What perseverence you have, Brian, and whatever would we do without shutterchance?
Brian Walbey: Thanks Lisl. I really enjoy SC., I only found out about it by accident from a magazine article. I feel it's a bit like a non-intrusive community of like minded people who enjoy this great hobby of ours, and I have had the pleasure of meeting several of the people on here on two occasions, and I hope some more will come along.
