A Look At Lakeland (1 of quite a few)

WORDSWORTH HOUSE 3/5

In the 1770’s the finest room in Wordsworth’s House in Cockermouth would have been on the first floor, this being the Drawing Room where important visitors in particular would have been entertained. The carpet has been specially woven to recreate the ‘large and handsome’ Wilton carpet it is known the Wordsworth’s owned.

Thanks for all your comments yesterday, I did read them all and look at your images also, but hospital visits etc.meant I didn't have time to do more than that, and today will be the same.  Maureen was doing fairly well yesterday, although the Morphine based pain treatment was causing some nausea problems which hopefully will soon clear up, and they hadn't done more than get her out of bed at that time.

A pleasant room, especially as it seems to have a large window, Brian.

Good to hear Maureen is making progress...I am already imagining your future series, featuring Maureen kicking up her heels like a spring lamb...
I hope the nausea soon passes. It is a horrible feeling! That carpet is beautiful. Must have cost a bob or two!

A perfect place for tea, Brian...which hopefully you and Maureen will be able to have together very soon, at home!

The check chair coverings look a trifle incongruous, Brian, but I suppose they know what it would have been like. Hope Maureen is feeling less nauseous today

Oh, I could imagine William Wordsworth and his wife sitting there while playing cards or reading a book, one of their servnts could bring some wine ...

My best wishes for Maureen - yes, this is a big op. and we need same patience to recover, but every day brings her further - this is sure!

Great place to sit and talk.
Thank you for the update from Maureen. I hope that everyday it will get some better for her.
Best wishes for the both of you.

Morphine is effective but it certainly does have displeasing side effects. Nausea and for me, hallucinations are very unpleasant.
A spacious yet comfortable looking room, Brian!
Best wishes for Maureen's recovery smile

Good to hear progress reports Brian. Its bound to be difficult and side affects to the drugs can take a few days to wear off.
I hope Maureen's nausea will be over soonest Brian!
Quite a pleasant room to be in.
