A Look At Lakeland (1 of quite a few)

ASHNESS 6/7

Just up above the Ashness Bridge was this lovely little stone hut. I have no idea what it is for, and using Google it seems nobody else does either, but it made a pleasant shot, all the more so because of the late flowering Daffodils in the foreground.

It would have looked good anyway, Brian, but those daffs are a bonus.
Brian Walbey: Yes, how fortunate the Daffs, were late this year.

"When all at once I saw a crowd
A host of dancing Daffodils..." - a fine photo!
Perhaps a hut for the shepherd or the miners who were once working in the Lakes ...? Alan might know more, but he is busy with his boys...

I believe to have read that those stone huts are shelters for Boy Scouts during their hiking tours ... There is a board at the back wall of this stone hut with some information.
Brian Walbey: I should have gone and looked at the board I guess Philine, next time perhaps.
Very interesting stone hut - the daffodils to make the image!
Brian Walbey: How fortunate the Daffodils were late this year.
