It's Garfield

I've said before I'm not a great cat lover but our son has recently taken on Garfield from a local animal sanctury, Garfield having been taken there as a stray.  It is reckoned that he is about 6 years old and must have had a hair lip when he was born, although that has been sorted out at some time or other.  As it is our sons birthday today this is his birthday present as we paid all the various fees involved.  He seems to have settled down reasonably well, I do stroke him but draw a line at him actually sitting on my lap.

A very kind gesture, Brian.

If you are not careful, Garfield will invade your heart...cats are good at this.
Brian Walbey: I don't think it's likely Garfield will do as you suggest Ray although I will admit to him being a nice looking cat.
The hair lip gives him a rather cute expression! He has very sweet eyes - and Ray is right, you must be careful or he'll be in your lap - and your heart - in no time flat! smile
Brian Walbey: I admit to him being a nice looking cat but if he tried to get in my lap I'd be out of the room in a flash. Within about two minutes of me taking this he bit Maureen's arm as she stroked his tummy, he obviously doesn't like that very much!

He looks a friendly sort of beast Brian
Brian Walbey: Our son tells me he is, indeed when Chris sits down Garfield is all over him, almost to the point of annoyance at times it seems.
I wonder if he will win you over in the end? He is a fine orange tabby.
Brian Walbey: I'll admit to him being a nice looking cat but I won't ever win me over. Within about two minutes of me taking this he bit Maureen's arm as she stroked his tummy, he obviously doesn't like that very much!

As you know, Brian, I don't normally comment at week-ends, but as I have been remiss and not commented all week on your motorbikes, I wanted to catch up and say how much I like your Caturday picture
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Lisl.

He must be happy top be in a home after being in the shelter. He still looksa bit scared but will relax in no time. Happy birthday to your son.
Brian Walbey: The shelter says he is not happy in the company of other cats very much and indeed he spends most of his time sitting in the front window of our sons house and doesn't go out very much.

Give him time and kindness and he'll soon rule the roost.
Brian Walbey: He might rule our sons roost one day but I just don't like cats enough to get close to him, although I will admit to him being a nice looking cat.
He'll take over your life,Brian, thats what they do,and it's not a bad thing. A happy Birthday to your son.
Brian Walbey: He won't take my life over Frank as he lives at our sons house so we only get to see him once in a while, and I really am not very much of a cat lover.
Garfield seems being a good fellow Brian!
Brian Walbey: Yes a nice looking cat Richard, although I do admit to not being much of a cat lover.

Good on your son for taking him on. It's so sad when animals end up in a sanctuary as they are best off in a loving home. Sure you can't be tempted...?
Brian Walbey: yes I was quite surprised at Chris wanting a cat but it is company for him when he is at home on his own. And no, I can't be tempted.
He looks like a bit of a bruiser.
Brian Walbey: The animal sanctuary seem to think he had been a stray for quite a while and was in a poor state when they got him. He apparently doesn't enjoy the company of other cats and indeed, doesn't go out very much, so I wonder if he has been bullied, in cat terms, although he is quite affectionate.
i am not a cat lover myself, Brian but a nice action nevertheless to adopt this one.
Brian Walbey: Yes, Chris and Garfield seem to have settled down well together.
