British Superbikes - Donnington Park 5/5

SHANE BYRNE - RAPID SOLICITORS KAWASAKI    THE CHAMP

Shane 'Shakey' Byrne (born 10 December 1976 in Lambeth, London) is a British motorcycle road racer. He is a three-time champion of the British Superbike Championship (2003, 2008 and 2012, a race winner in the Superbike World Championship and a former competitor in MotoGP. He is currently leading the 2013 British Superbike Championship and after having his first race in the championship in 1999 he has notched up 41 victories and 13 pole positions.  Leading the Championship as of last Monday.

Taken at the official British Superbike Championship test day at Donnington Park circuit on 14th.March, 2013. (This has been my favourite sport since 1961)

Thanks for all your interest in this series, I wasn't sure how it would be received, not being everybodies "cup of tea", especially the ladies.  I hope you haven't been too bored by some of my somewhat lengthy replies.  Tomorrow I will post something else you will never have expected from me, a little clue, it will be  Cat Saturday once again.

Didn't bore me at all, Brian. [grin]
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ray, I have plenty more from times past, perhaps I will post a few every now and then.
I think these have been great - and this is a great closer!
Do we get to see Garfield tomorrow? smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth. Garfield tomorrow, whatever made you think of that smile smile

I'm sure all the ladies are delighted to see real men behaving so brilliantly on the race track.

Cat Saturday for you tomorrow ...so does that mean you will be showing us tins of cat food, Brian
Brian Walbey: That's a bit sexist Richard, are you suggesting our ladies could be stirred by the sight of a handsome, leather clad, racer smile I will be showing what you might term a tin of cat food recipient.

A man who lives for speed
Brian Walbey: Indeed Chris, with a fine series of career results behind him.

Well, Brian, this is one lady who is not bored. HA! Great job with these action shots.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Ginnie.
Fine image, Rapid Solicitors do they exist ? I have only ever found snail pace ones !!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Martin. Rapid do exist, they are based in the Hull area.

I know it might not be 'my cup of tea', however your shots arr just wonderful.
I bet you know all the insides out too, in this sports.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Astrid. I keep up as much as possible with a magazine I take and the various events shown on the television, and occasionally go to a meeting, we have two race tracks very near us.
aaah, and we are in red
Brian Walbey: Yes, the paint job and Shane's leathers make a good picture I feel.
Many thanks for this superb series Brian, I did enjoy it very much!
Brian Walbey: I'm so pleased, thanks very much Richard.
It's a great series Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Martin.
Good speed shot, Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tom.
I like this the best,Brian, could be the colours.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Frank, the paint job on the bike and the matching leathers colours make for a good presentation don't they.

He is living up to the slogan on the bike Brian. CAT SATURDAY! and I was hoping that NO PICTURE SATURDAY would catch on.
Brian Walbey: Indeed Chad, he is a very quick rider. I don't think your Saturday interpretation will ever catch on Chad, but keep up the good work smile
Man and machine as one Brian
Brian Walbey: Indeed John, that's how they need to be at they speeds they ride at.
A fine series of pictures Brian. Your love of the sport is very apparent smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill. Now perhaps you have more idea of why, generally, sports involving the use of balls and bats etc., apart from perhaps Snooker don't grab me very much. We have three of the top Championship teams within a few miles of us, plus Leicester Tigers but apart from looking up their results I'm not tempted at all to go and watch them, but the old saying is "each to his own", good job we don't all like the same things isn't it.
This is the best one, Brian. The colour shows up so much and accentuates the speed. Loved the series, thank you.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Pauline. The rider and machine are all in team colours which works very well to the spectator.

'Rapid'- yes, this is a right word- the biker looks like a red devil!
Brian Walbey: These bikes are very fast Philine so "rapid" is the correct word, and this guy is one of the quickest of all in the U.K.
I am one of the ladies who do enjoy looking at the bikes and their riders. The racing (on TV) gets a bit boring though. Many many many years ago (pre children) M and I used to go to Brands Hatch.
Brian Walbey: A surprising number of females are interested in this sport Sheila, and I agree, the MotoGP on BBC is a boring most of the time, but on Eurosport they have both the World and British Superbike Championships and the racing in those makes Formula 1, for instance, look very poor.
