Dunster Castle 5/7

This lovely old door is to the left of the little window of the inner courtyard room I showed you yesterday. I managed to sell another version of this image which showed the door only as you can see here http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=dunster&w=48024718@N07

I believe the shadows add a lot to this fine work, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Certainly the ones on the floor help a lot.

"Lovely old door," indeed, Brian. I can see why someone bought a print of the other version.
Brian Walbey: I wouldn't be surprised if that door isn't quite old.

Well done, Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Lisl.
Great shot Brian the shadows add a lot. If you are able to sell images it must help to underwrite some of your equipment costs.
Brian Walbey: Certainly the shadows on the floor help a lot. It is the only image I've ever managed to sell a copy of although quite a few images on my Flickr blog have been picked up and used in various places, although usually no money changes hands. I was recently asked by Loughborough University for the use of an image taken in Loughborough which will go in the guide handed out to every new student entering the university, that's quite a nice.

Full of lovely textures and shadows ...
Brian Walbey: Certainly the ones on the floor help a lot and with all those stones I was pleased how well the textures came out.

Nice door but I am taken with the stone work that surrounds it.
Brian Walbey: The whole little room is a delightful place Mary.

lovely series of a location i know very well! did you visit the train line too?
Brian Walbey: Thanks Sarah. Yes we went on the train on the Friday. We were with a holiday group from our church and our minister arranged for us to have a cream tea on the return journey, it was delicious!

I like the patterns of the shadows very much. The texture on the door is lovely.
Brian Walbey: It's a very fine, and I suspect old, door Alan.
They are both lovely images Brian. Well done on the sale
Brian Walbey: Thanks Janet.
This would probably work well in b&w also.
Brian Walbey: Yes I might give that a try John, give me a chance to play with mono in Lightroom 4, I haven't done much with that as yet.
The shadows make it,Brian.
Brian Walbey: Yes it would definitely not be so interesting without them.
Well done on selling one Brian. I like this one too
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill.
