St.Leonard's Church, Charlecote 6/7

Within the area to the North of the chancel in St.Leonard’s Church, Charlecote, are, as I said yesterday, a collection of alabaster effigies and I found among them this one of a Cherub sitting on a skull. I have been unable to find out quite what this is supposed to represent though.

Memento mori - youth/life and death are closer to each other than you may think - the child is pointing at the scull, the death - a very interesting observation!
Brian Walbey: I think Ray's comment about the journey being short about sums this up Philine.

Brian Walbey: Yes, I think Ray's comment about the journey being short about sums this up.
