Charlecote Manor - The Grounds 4/7

As promised yesterday a closer picture of the lovely little waterfall on the bend of the River Avon at Charlecote Manor. I really liked this feature and was very lucky when a lone Swan decided to paddle in to the picture area. I perhaps misled some of you yesterday when I said I entered my 70th.year on my birthday, I did because I was at the end of my 69th.year and I celebrated that birthday as I went in to the start of my 70th.year, even my daughter got it wrong and bought me a 70 balloon, I will save it for next year, many thanks though for all your good wishes.

Lovely...

[They do plastic swans rather well, these days, heh!]

According to Thais, Brian, it is your 70th birthday, as they count the day you were born as your first...makes a lot of sense to my addled brain.
Brian Walbey: Just as well I'm not a Thai Ray, and I bet you stick to the Aussie way of ageing as well smile

Beautiful shot Brian! Very tranquil.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Frances.
It's a beautiful serene scene Brian... fine image....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Peter.
A swan will always make any image just that much more special!
I understand, now! And you are actually very right in how you stated it! Happy 69!!!
Brian Walbey: I had to wait quite a while for it to get in the position I wanted it in.

A lovely picture Brian with a perfectly positioned Swan
Brian Walbey: I had to wait a while for it to get just there.
Can't wait for the shot of the swan climbing up the waterfall, though I think I am going to be disappointed.
Brian Walbey: Well you are to be honest Martin, but I guess they could do that on those small steps.

Enjoy the rest of your 60s Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chad, I intend to.
A nice idyllic picture Brian. I had a feeling you were a mere 69!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, even our Caroline thought I meant I was 70 and bought me a balloon with 70 on, it stands in the corner of our lounge at the moment, a bit like a slow acting egg timer!
You can almost hear the waterfall, Brian. Such a typically English scene.
Brian Walbey: Yes isn't it a lovely little corner of this fine parkland.
will the swan go UP the waterfall?
Brian Walbey: No doubt it could hop up those small steps if it really wanted to.
a vibrant shot. the greens are pleasantly strong in this image
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ayush, everything was in the early flush of summer.
Lovely shot,Brian,I'm sorry,I missed your Birthday,I hope you had a happy one! smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Frank. Yes I had a fine day, Maureen treated me to lunch at a local stately home place, and then our two kids and the grandchildren et al joined us for tea at home, nice to be altogether at times.

Did Maureen chase the swan up river for you, Brian?
Brian Walbey: No I was very patient and waited for it to get where I wanted it, Maureen was patient waiting for me being patient, what a team we make smile
The swan is a great addition.
Brian Walbey: Yes without the Swan the picture would have been a bit bare wouldn't it.

Oh! I missed your birthday yesterday; belated wishes. I'd make the most of being under 70 for now smile The swan is probably wondering what is the easiest way to get up the weir.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan, a nice day was had by all in the end as the family gathered for tea in the garden after lunch out with Maureen. I guess the swan could get up those small steps should it want to.
Looks very pleasant, recently went to Mottisfont, massive trout in the River Test. Congrats on the birthday, I'm 65 next month but try not to dwell on birthdays as the time passes far too quickly smile
Brian Walbey: I guess there is probably plenty of fish in here John, I can't imagine the NT.letting people fish there. So after all these years you start getting money back from the Government next month, that, at least, is one consolation of reaching 65.
Lovely scene, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Indeed it is, thanks Tom.

I think you confused all of us over the numbers things Brian Lovely sloppy steps
Brian Walbey: I was surprised that some people hadn't heard of that conundrum re ages before, although Ray tells me that in Thailand they start from the first day of the new birthday year so over there I would be considered 70, glad I live here :
A beautiful capture young mansmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Sally, and it's nice to be called young, my brain says I'm in my twenties but sometimes my body tells me otherwise smile
