Charlecote Manor - The Grounds 1/7

As promised yesterday a look round the grounds of the Charlecote Manor, Warwickshire estate starting with this lovely set of steps and gates leading up in to one of the garden areas. There are some nice walking areas at the top and also the main restaurant/coffee shop with seating both inside and outside in times of pleasant weather.

Very interesting shot Brian the stonework is captured very nicely.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Frances.
A wonderful place to sit a spell.
Brian Walbey: Indeed it is Elizabeth, with a nice garden and excellent teabar at the top of the steps.

Is that a sundial on the right post?
This looks like a great place to be.
Love the inviting open gate.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Astrid. Yes that is a sundial, I took a couple of close-up shots of it, because as it was a nice sunny day it was actually able to do its job.

Well you've certainly got the latter Brian. Aren't these Cedar trees wonderful too
Brian Walbey: Yes it was a lovely day at Charlecote last year. There are some fine trees all round the place.
This is quite an elaborate entrance to the gardens Brian...

You have definitely picked some pleasant weather for this beauty, Brian!
Brian Walbey: The whole day was bright and sunny Ginnie, indeed the whole weekend was, which was nice as we were staying in a nearby hotel for a few days.

Yes, a grand entrance to the garden areas - and I like the sherpherd sculpture! Like Chris I think of the cedars that give the English gardens a Mediterranean flair!
Brian Walbey: This wasn't very far from your trip to Hidcote last year Philine. If you do get time you might enjoy looking back at the inside of the house that I posted last week.

That grass is suffering and no doubt why Brian. AstroTurf!
Brian Walbey: A lot of people pass through that area every day Chad, hence the wear and tear of the grass.
nice composition
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chantal.

Ah now this spot I do remember. A fine shepherdess with her houette.
Brian Walbey: Yes it is a nice little statue. Of course you said before you are familiar with Charleoote.
Most pleasant,Brian,I'll sit with Elizabeth a while,( I wish) smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Frank. There are plenty of seats at Charlecote where you could sit with Elizabeth, were she this side of the pond, that wouldn't have quite so many people passing by, and which are in even more attractive spots.
It all looks enchanting Brian
Brian Walbey: It really is a fine place to visit.
I like this
Brian Walbey: Thanks Previ.
What a beautiful spot to sit and ponder a while.
Brian Walbey: Indeed it is, the gardens and parkland at the top are even nicer to sit and enjoy the surroundings.
This is a grand start Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Sally.
Rather stylish, I like the benches.
Brian Walbey: Yes a fine set of steps into the garden area.
Nice old brickwork!
Brian Walbey: It seems to have stood the test of time Tom.
