Charlecote Manor - Inside 6/7

I particularly liked this staircase in Charlecote Manor but I can’t remember if this is the main staircase or another one in a different area of the house. I do like the lamp in the centre, sadly the bulbs themselves are a little burnt out but I don’t think that stops you admiring the attraction of the lamp.

Wonderful Brian! You captured this at a perfect angle and managed to get so much wonderful points of interest into one shot. Smashing! smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Frances. I did have to hang around for a while until I got the staircase to myself.
I like the entire image Brian... nicely framed....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Peter.
Some fine woodwork Brian
Brian Walbey: Indeed Bill, altogether a very fine staircase.

You've even captured the worn threads on the stair runner.
Brian Walbey: I guess these days, with all the visitors, this stair carpet would get even more use than when the use was being lived in.
I've just caught up with your inside series Brian, what a delightful place Charlecote Manor is.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Sally, it is a fine place to visit, more of the outside areas next week.

A lamp of quality, I wonder how many stairs there are?
Brian Walbey: Indeed it is Chris, although I didn't count the stairs to be honest smile
Very grand Brian. Imagine polishing all those
Brian Walbey: Definitely not a job for the men of the house in those days.

I like the staircase but the lit lamp doesn't dazzle me with excitement.
Brian Walbey: I would have preferred the lamp to be unlit and then it wouldn't have burnt out and might have appeared slightly more attractive.

what an oppulently decorated house!
Brian Walbey: Yes the whole house is quite spectacular, full marks to the National Trust.

Both the staircase and the lamp are fine examples as you say. I like the newel (?) posts very much but would not want to dust them. The stair carpet is looking a little worm in places.
Brian Walbey: Yes I thought this a very fine little corner of the house, but I guess the stair carpet is well worn by all the thousands of visitors this place gets.

Burnt out lamps can make fine subjects, Brian.
Brian Walbey: My opinion as well Ray, thanks.
