photoblog image Charlecote Manor - Outside 5/7

Charlecote Manor - Outside 5/7

From a slightly different position than yesterdays picture of the East Front of Charlecote Manor. The East Front of the main block has a two storied porch-wing set rather south of the middle to give direct access to the south end of the great hall that occupies about two-thirds of the main block and rises two stories. You will find another of my images of Charlecote Manor, very similar to this this on the website of Albatross Travel here , mine being the fifth in from the left.  I understand it is also being used in their holiday brochure, with my permission of course.

I like this angle Brian. It brings out the symmetry of the hedges and makes the landscape look so pristine. smile
Brian Walbey: Indeed Frances and still not too many people about.
Nicely done, Brian! Congrats on being published!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth.

Love all of the chimneys
Brian Walbey: They seemed to specialise in decorative chimneys in days gone by.

You are clearly strutting your stuff, Brian...what you do so well. You could be the "resident photographer" for Britain's National Trust!
Brian Walbey: Well I do tend to take a lot of pictures at NT.properties when we visit them, sadly for we ordinary mortals it's no tripods and no flash.
I could happily live there Brian!!
Brian Walbey: So could I Sally if someone else done the chores and paid the bills smile

The chimneys arew standing erected like soldiers in a row.
My congratulation - and it is not the first time that your photo has been published! How did Albatross Travel find your photo?
Brian Walbey: They did used to make quite artistic items of their chimneys in the old days. The travel company found my photo on my Flickr site which you also might enjoy, lots of things not on SC.to look at. It is at http://www.flickr.com/photos/brianaw2010/

The building looks more balanced from this angle Brian.

A very fine building!
Brian Walbey: Indeed it is Tom.
Charlecote Manor is very easy on the eyes, Brian; a magnificent home, indeed. Congratulations on having your photo published.

I must say I am struck by these lovely green lawns - all we have are brown areas at the moment!
Brian Walbey: I must admit our lawns are still nice and green.
It is the most handsome of houses Brian.
Brian Walbey: Couldn't agree more Bill.
