Lakeland Panorama 3/7

DERWENTWATER FROM SURPRISE VIEW

On the way down from Watendlath, see yesterdays posting, and just above Ashness Bridge, is Surprise View, another popular photography spot, and hopefully this image shows why. The lake is Derwentwater with Catbells (?) on the left, and at the far end is Keswick, where we stayed, with the Skiddaw mountain range behind it. [9 shot panorama]

Happy 42nd.Wedding Anniversary to Maureen and me.

It is a fine pano, Brian.

Happy Anniversary to you both.

I have been married about the same time as you, but not to one spouse... [grin]
Brian Walbey: Thanks on both counts Ray.

And congratulations to you and Maureen - so happy for you!!!

Happy wedding anniversary! As a matter of interest what software do you use for your fine panoramas Brian?
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris. I done the panorama in Photoshop CS3 which seems to do most of the work for one.

First of all, Brian, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you and Maureen! That's a HUGE milestone in this day and age!

Secondly, I am very inspired by your stitchery work with panos. Well done...again!
Brian Walbey: Thanks on both counts Ginnie, sadly outside it is pouring with rain thus curtailing the outing we had planned.
Happy anniversary, a milestone
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chantal, there's a lot of couples who don't get to anything like 42 years these days sadly.
That's a very lovely picture of you and your beloved. Happy Anniversary. The Surprise View is very nice too. I am guessing it is around a curve in the road and once you go round the curve there is the scenery. It makes me think of the first time I visited Newfoundland and that was the case over and over.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Mary. Behind me is indeed a bend in the road and a parking area, all set in some woodland. It is a "dodgy" sort of road/track and quite narrow but worth it for this fine view.
Another fine view,Brian. A happy anniversary to you both.
Brian Walbey: Thanks on both counts Frank.

You have been married almost as long as I have Brian, congratulations to you both.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Chad.
A very happy anniversary. Ours is in November and will also be our 42nd.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, I hadn't forgotten that your big day comes then, perhaps we might see an up to date picture of you and Ange then, from Gorinchem perhaps.
Congratulations on both the anniversary and the panorama.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much John.

Happy Anniversary to you both! I bet you're had a lot of fun together in those 42 yesrs (and a little heatache, too, if you're normal smile ) Yes, that is Catbells as you rightly say. Do you know you are standing in the footseps of that great landscape photographer Charlie Waite? I bumped into him there when he was leading one of his photo tours.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan, indeed fun and heartache, we realised a while ago that with all our parents gone we are now the senior members of our family, what a thought! If it's good enough for Mr.Waite then it is good enough for me.

Happy anniversary to you both!! That is a wonderful picture of you both.
Wonderful panorama too, what a beautiful place to be.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Astrid. I'm sure you would enjoy visiting the Lakes but it is a long way from where Chris lives should you visit him again sometime.
