Wow! Drive mechanism copied directly from steam age...I like this, Brian.
Brian Walbey: There are still several types of diesel shunters about with this type of drive Ray.

I like the carriage behind.
Brian Walbey: It's seen better days though.

Dear old Albert looks a bit down in the mouth Brian
Brian Walbey: Certainly does Chris, sad isn't it.
A grand little lad was young Albert,
All dressed in his best; quite a swell
With a stick with an 'orse's 'ead 'andle,
The finest that Woolworth's could sell.
Brian Walbey: Hope you don't mind but I read this in a Northern accent smile
Good morning Brian. This image is a classic metaphor in RR. There's an oil painting by Justo Ruiz Luna called "Cuartel de Inválidos" (1892), that I managed to find after an investigation of certain etchings done after it - I enclosed the link- and acquire!

Brian Walbey: Thanks for the link Juan Carlos, railway engines, whether steam or otherwise always look sad lined up in that way don't they.
Albert seems enjoying a pleasant retirement! Fine capture Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.
In need of a paint job, I think.
Brian Walbey: Certainly is Tom, as is the carriage attached to it.
I am also catching up on your past images Brian... sorry about that...
it looks that Albert and the railcar behind it have been left in the weeds for a some time now....petersmile
Brian Walbey: It does look a bit sad doesn't it.

I'm sure I can recall Airfix producing a model of this class. There's some work needed to do on the DMU behind.
Brian Walbey: Not sure about the kit Alan, but the thing behind is a carriage of some sort, not in good condition at all.
