photoblog image Poole Harbour Panorama

Poole Harbour Panorama

There is a small road that runs from the village of Studland over the hills to Corfe in Dorset and part the way along one suddenly comes upon this fine view. Fortunately the local authority has built quite a large lay-by and from there this lovely panorama looking across towards Poole Harbour can be seen. I tried several multi-shot panoramas but in the end this single shot came out best of all.

Certainly worth pausing for, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Indeed Ray, sadly the light wasn't at its best.
What a wonderful panorama Brian... i think that you still have a long hike to get down to the harbour....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Indeed Peter it is a long walk to the harbour, as it is called, but the second paragraph here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poole_Harbour will give you some information about the harbour, it is not a little place although its name sounds like that.

A scene well know to me Brian: a lovely part of the world indeed
Brian Walbey: I guess you will have been past this spot many times Chris.

a beautiful view - I would like to walk along this path to enjoy such a vista!
Brian Walbey: It is a fine view Philine, I'm sure most people would enjoy a stroll past this viewpoint.

Very scenic capture Brian! You can see for miles and miles smile
Brian Walbey: Yes it is reasonably high up and the hills drop away to miles of flat land leading to the edge of the harbour, which is really a big bay. The second paragraph herehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poole_Harbour tells you more.
Great that there was a lay-by there Brian. It's so frustrating when you have to shoot on past lovely scenes such as this
Brian Walbey: I agree Janet, although Maureen generally drives these days I see lots of nice scenes but there's always a lack of places to pull over.
Really love the colours painting the landscape.
Brian Walbey: Yes a nice mix of early September colours, just prior to its full autumn canvas of colour.
What a beautiful vista Brian! Well done.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, we really enjoyed the view out across there.

A very familiar part of the world for me. I've walked and biked over the Heath many times. There is some challenging riding along the side of the golf course.
Brian Walbey: I guessed you would be familiar with this area Alan.
