St.Peter & St.Paul, Syston 3/7

The main entrance to the church of St.Peter and St.Paul at Syston has this very fine entrance porch made from lovely coloured stone, and to one side this small area set aside as a memorial area which is presumably in addition to the main War memorial elsewhere in the town.

I love the tracery of shadows, Brian.
Brian Walbey: That was a real bonus Graeme.

I agree with Graeme, the shadows playing on the building are excellent!
Brian Walbey: That was a real bonus Frances.

Yes..the dappled sunlight accentuates the positives of the stonework, IMHO.

Nicely done, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks ray, those shadows were a real bonus.

That pink stone is very agreeable
Brian Walbey: Yes it is Chris, I presume it must be from somewhere local.

Dappled stonework - not always easy to get such a good picture, Brian
Brian Walbey: A real bonus Lisl.
The stone is very attractive Brian
Brian Walbey: Yes it is Bill, I presume it must be from somewhere local
What beautiful stonework. I like the tree shadows.
Brian Walbey: I guess it must be local stone from somewhere, and the shadows were a real bonus in this shot.

I see that there is a sturdy and well appointed piece of gutteridge on show too Brian.
Brian Walbey: Indeed there is Chad, such things are never missed by you area they.

I love the shadows reflected at the wall - sometimes I saw such poppy wreaths in English churches. A wonderful atmosphere around St. Peter & St. Paul! Yes, the stone is beautiful.
Brian Walbey: The shadows were a bonus Philine, the stone presumably is from somewhere local, but I do wonder about the wreath when the town has a proper war memorial elsewhere.
Simply superb with the shadows play Brian!
Brian Walbey: Yes a real bonus Richard.
The shadow play works very nicely here Brian.
Brian Walbey: Indeed I was lucky that day Fred.
The pattern of shadows has my eyes - it seems to accentuate the pattern of stone and mortar! Lovely shot Brian smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Martin, those shadows were a real bonus.
