Wareham - The Town 3/6

Two views of the main street through the Dorset town of Wareham. The left hand image looks South across the road bridge over the River Frome and onwards to the Isle of Purbeck whilst the right hand image takes one past a delightful selection of small shops and onwards to the by-pass and railway station from which I recently showed a picture of a departing train.

Lovely shots, Brian, and fine evidence that the Council hires lapsed alcoholics as line painters.
Brian Walbey: Lol. Those wiggly lines are something to do with parking restrictions by "Zebra" crossings, obviously the man in government who came up with this idea was "p*s**d" at the time smile
Very clever Brian, lovely shots.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Sally.
The charm goes on...
Brian Walbey: It is that sort of place Elizabeth, at least we found it so.

Very fine views Brian. Where is all the traffic?
Brian Walbey: Yes there wasn't much traffic, early September and the only visitors are we senior citizens, everyone else is at work, and do we feel sorry for them, don't answer that smile

It looks as if you were up early, Brian
Brian Walbey: NO fairly late in the morning Lisl, there just didn't seem to be much traffic about. See my answer to Chris.

I just love how you and Maureen get around, Brian!! smile
Brian Walbey: Well sort of get around Ginnie, most of my photography is done during the two or three short holidays we take each year, sadly as I don't drive, because of my balance issues, I am dependant on Maureen to take me anywhere else different from our usual haunts.
nice duet
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chantal.
Pleasing views of a nice little town Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, we really liked the place, nice little shops, no big chains, apart from Sainsbury's, and two interesting churches which I will show here later in the year.

A quiet looking town Brian
Brian Walbey: It was the day we were there vintage, I suspect at weekends in the main holiday period it might be somewhat different.

Has all the looks of a sunny Sunday afternoon - quite rare last year!
Brian Walbey: Indeed it does Mike although it was actually around lunchtime on a Friday.
Really nice shots, a typical English town.
Brian Walbey: Thanks, this how I like to see English towns, no big chain shops etc.
Fine shots Brian! I'll visit Wareham, when I next pass by smile
Brian Walbey: I'm sure you would enjoy a stroll around Wareham Martin, a bit more like an old fashioned sort of place.

It's got a timelss feel to it at that time of year Brian.
Brian Walbey: Yes it had Richard, a bit like Southwold and such places.
Beautiful diptych Brian! Well done.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.

Look right, look left, look right again and then if...
Brian Walbey: There certainly wasn't much in the way of traffic during the day Chad.

Mmmm.. I like the vie looking south; I've had plenty of fun both walking and on the bike on those hills. Wareham is lovely little town; plenty of interesting shops.
Brian Walbey: I guess walking anywhere on Purbeck would be enjoyable Lisl, and we did enjoy the little shops, none of the big chains that most towns have.
Quite spacious isn't it. Lovely shots Brian
Brian Walbey: Yes it is a fairly wide street I suppose looking at it like this.
Just as I remember, Brian. Lovely place.
Brian Walbey: It really felt like a quiet English country town, I guess it having a by-pass helps.
