Wareham - The River Frome 3/7

Turning to the right from yesterdays image a look up the River Frome towards the East and Poole Harbour where it finally reaches the sea. Once again the Old Granary and the Parish Church act as a backdrop to the river.

Yes...very pleasant place!
Brian Walbey: If it wasn't 200 miles away i wouldn't mind visiting here quite often.
This is a wonderful point of view Brian... the sailboats at the far end add much depth to your shot....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Peter, you will see more of the boats later in the week.
Lovely shot Brian!

I remember this granary pub from my visit decades ago. Charming small town is Wareham
Brian Walbey: We really liked Wareham Richard, very much our sort of place.
I like the overview POV

So idyllic, Brian...and so English, I might add. smile
Brian Walbey: Indeed it is Ginnie, when you next come over drop a hint to Chris that you would enjoy a big round trip taking in Wareham and Swanage, just down the road, what a fine day out you would have, because Brian says so smile
A great composition Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Martin, the first glance at the river proper.
a fine picture postcard Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, the Quay at Wareham is very much a postcard sort of place.

a dream of a peaceful summerday, now in these wintery times far away!
Brian Walbey: Indeed Philine, although we have quite a pleasant, if chilly, day where we live.
Looks a beautiful spot, Brian....is it a long walk to Poole? smile
Brian Walbey: Yes it is on both counts Martin, by road about 8 or 9 miles to central Poole I would think.

Looks a perfect place for lunch!
Brian Walbey: It is Mike, and we found a very good bakers to buy rolls, cakes and drinks, oh how we retired folks live wink
It's a lovely area, Brian, welll presented here. (I remember the bakers, too!)
Brian Walbey: Yes we enjoyed our time there especially on such a fine day, and the eats from the bakers.
Not a part of the world I know at all!
Brian Walbey: It is very nice round that way Tom, the Isle of Purbeck, to which Wareham is the gateway is beautiful and Swanage is delightful.
A lovely place to walk and dine too I see from here.
Brian Walbey: Yes it is Jacquelyn, I am taking you on a short walk along the riverside path for the rest of the week.
