Elvaston Castle 1/10

In late July my Camera Club had an afternoon walk and get together at Elvaston Castle Country Park. Located in Derbyshire, near to Derby and Nottingham, Elvaston Castle Country Park encompasses approximately 200 acres of open parkland, woodland and more formal historical gardens. Whichever way one walks from the car park in the direction of the house and gardens, near the centre of the park, this lovely tree lined lake is skirted.

The clouds are a bit thirsty...perhaps a warm day?
Brian Walbey: It was a warmish sort of day Ray but the clouds were threatening, wait till Thursday to see what happened!

Looks idyllic Brian. Hardly a breath of wind too.
Brian Walbey: It is very nice Mike, it didn't stay like this for long as you will see on Thursday!
So wonderful! Perfect for a Camera Club outing!
Brian Walbey: It was at that moment Elizabeth but 20 minutes later, well...... but you'll have to wait till Thursday for that.
This is a beautifully framed scene from behind the tree opening into the reflections of the sky and the trees in the lake Brian....petersmile

This is when I'd like to have a canoe or kayak, Brian! smile
Brian Walbey: You would have plenty of company Ginnie, there was a great flotilla of Ducks and Geese further along.

a beautiful, peaceful scene- and I especially love the clouds mirrored in the lake's surface - a wonderfully framed photo - one your best ones in my opinion!
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Philine.

The reflections are superb Brian, especially the 'hole' in the middle.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chad, the tree canopy was nicely grown at that time to give that area of sky a reflection on the water.
peaceful place
Brian Walbey: Yes it was at that time Chantal, but being near two cities on really hit days there are a lot of families about, not quite so easy to get reasonable photos then.

Simply smashing photo
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much vintage.
I think your castle has been flooded. LOL In reality, gorgeous shot with the sky reflection in the water.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Mary, it was still quite a longish walk to the castle, which isn't actually a proper castle as you will see later in the week.
Splendid Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Juan Carlos.

It looks a wonderful place. I like the brightness of the leaves and the branches overhanging the lake.
