Donnington Park Classic Bikes 7/7

A STRANGE DEVICE

Some of you may wonder what this beautiful device is, well it certainly isn’t the type of sidecar outfit our forefathers drove back in the 1940’s and 1950’s. Brian Gray was a leading sidecar racer for several years in European and World championships as well as riding in 21 Isle of Man TT races, his best finish being 10th. As you can see he is still involved with motorcycles and also still races in classic races, albeit not with this machine.

Lots of smooth surface area for advertising decals, Brian...
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Ray, and for slicing through the air no doubt.
One of those things that looks fast just standing still!
Brian Walbey: Yes it does Elizabeth, they all look similar to this these days.
COOL!!
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Chantal.

That looks such fun Brian!!
Brian Walbey: The impression od f speed would be tremendous, the top of this is only about knee high on an average height person.

Well it must certainly be aerodynamic Brian.
Brian Walbey: Certainly is Chad.
I have always thought sidecar racers are completely insane. grin
Brian Walbey: I've often had similar thoughts Bill. I enjoyed our chat this afternoon.

It really does look space age!
Brian Walbey: Very much a modern style of outfit Chris.
Looks like an exciting ride Brian. Nice design
Brian Walbey: It is very low to the ground, the sensation of speed must be tremendous at about 150mph!
Surely this is just a hover mower. [grin]
Brian Walbey: Yes a 150mph.one Richard, get the lawn done in no time.
I'm with Bill on this one!
Brian Walbey: I think I am to be honest Tom, at least as regards the passenger anyway.
Blimey. that is a sensational looking machine. Nice one!
Brian Walbey: It would to have seen it out on the track but it didn't run as far as I know.
Very futuristic Brian!
Brian Walbey: Sort of Richard, although this sort of shape has been the vogue for quite a time now.

Very different to what a recall from sidecar racing.
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Alan, the passenger didn't have to do a lot, basically a car with three wheels I think.
Blimey! These have changed a bit!
Brian Walbey: Sort of Graeme, although this sort of shape has been the vogue for quite a time now.
