photoblog image North Norfolk Railway 4/7

North Norfolk Railway 4/7

Yesterdays image was of a train entering the intermediate station at Weybourne but it is such a delightfully restored village station, albeit 1 mile from the village, that I produced this postcard to give you more idea what it is like. The train in the platform is the one in my posting from yesterday.

A crisp and gorgeous montage, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ray, it saved showing all these one at a time.
Great composition on all of the pictures in this collage Brian... i like the ticket windowgrin....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Peter, I also like the ticket window and the old fashioned railway clock above it. I have a modern copy of a clock like that in our back garden.
Wonderful postcard Brian! I love each of these shots!
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Elizabeth.
Lovely postcard Brian. I love the waiting room with its fireplace
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill. The whole place is the epitome of a rural station and well worth a visit.
A splendid retro collection
Brian Walbey: Thanks Martin.
A fine selection Brian ... I must get up there .
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, the whole railway is worth a visit, especially Holt, where a few years ago all that was there was a platform and an empty field more or less, but not know.

It all looks so wonderful & timeless Brian
Brian Walbey: Indeed it does Chris, the epitome of a rural station somewhere in England.
sell it to the tourist office, worth it
Brian Walbey: Not a bed idea that Chantal.
A very effective collage Brian, and nicely done.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Fred.

They will be proud of that one Brian, exceptional.
Brian Walbey: Chantal thinks I should sell it to the station, not a bad idea at all.
I do like your presentation Brian, it seems vey fitting! Love the ticket office shots smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Martin, I like the clock above the ticket window, we have a copy of one like that in our back garden.

HOW do you do that??? Just wonderful!
Brian Walbey: It's not difficult to put together if you use editing software that has Layers as an option. I'm lucky to have Photoshop CS3 but Elements and several other cheaper suites can do the same and there are plenty of tutorial videos on the net.
Definitely post-card worthy, Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Tom.

You ought to be in the business, Brian
Brian Walbey: Bit too old for that now Lisl, but thanks for saying so.
A wonderful collage which gives us a nice idea of the place Brian!
Brian Walbey: It was easier to do this than show all these images one at a time and you all also get a good overview of what a delightful little station it is.
Would love that upper right building for a greenhouse.
Brian Walbey: That indeed would be a very good use for an old fashioned English signal cabin Mary, if it wasn't needed at Weybourne.
Nice when it's quiet, Brian. We went on an exhibition weekend a couple of years ago and it was heaving!
Brian Walbey: Yes all these railways heave when they have galas on, not the best time for photos.
Brian, I have spent many a holiday near Weybourne at a place called Kelling Heath. The steam trains run through Kelling and Weybourne from Sheringham to Holt station where you can pick up a pony and trap to take you into the delightful town of Holt.In September the railway has a 1940 themed weekend. I will submit some photos I have later.P.S. The railway line is known as the Poppy Line.
Brian Walbey: Thanks for that info.Peter, I look forward to seeing your photos. We were staying in Sheringham when we went here after riding the length of the line. I can remember many years ago their Holt station being a bare platform and not much else, how it's changed over the years.
