photoblog image Weybourne Panorama

Weybourne Panorama

The North Norfolk Railway runs from Sheringham to Holt and it goes without saying that we took a ride on it during our Norfolk holiday in June/July.  As the train approached the midway station of Weybourne it pulled to a halt for a few minutes and I took this hand-held 6-shot panorama through the carriage window.   I think this shows that, contrary to all rumours, Norfolk is not flat, or at least this part isn't.  More from the railway itself tomorrow.

Ha! that train must always stop there, Brian, I've taken this shot as well! Good one.
Brian Walbey: It is certainly a good place for the train to stop as it is a fine view on a good day.

Beautiful serenity! Terrific job stitching it together.
Brian Walbey: This part of Norfolk is quiet and rural Beth, thanks for your comment.

Really! Looks pretty darn flat to me, Brian.

Nice pano...I am a sucker for agriscapes.
Brian Walbey: I guess it is flat compared with parts of Thailand but it is lovely countryside.
Another great panorama Brian... yesterday four panels and today six... this one has such depth to it....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Peter.
Beautiful rolling hills- much like Indiana!
Brian Walbey: It is a part of our country we enjoy Elizabeth, and no doubt much less arid than round where you live.
nice wide views there, not too crowded
Brian Walbey: Yes this part of Norfolk, away from seaside resorts is really pleasant.

Beautifully stitched Brian: this is a lovely part of the world - when the weather is good
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris. We really like Norfolk and Suffolk, we had many holidays there when the children were small and we lived in the Huntingdon area, indeed our friend Richard T.spends a lot of time up that way and I don't blame him at all.
Wonderful Brian. Handheld? Congratulations for the stitching!
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Richard.
So pretty! Seems all the roofs are red.
Brian Walbey: We like this part of our country very much. A lot of the older houses and cottages have red tiles on the roofs, I guess it would be to do with local availability of suitable materials to make them which happened to be red.
An effective panoramic shot Brian the only way for such a vista.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Martin.
More of a bump than a hill, Brian smile
Brian Walbey: Some would say a mountain by Norfolk standards Tom smile

Another very nicely done shot. Never been to this part of the world before; Snetterton is the only part of Norfolk I've been to. I like the glimpses of the sea here. (Monday I'm off to Suffolk for five days.)
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan, I know Snetterton well from my commentating days there. I hope you enjoy Suffolk, it is a lovely county, may the weather be kind to you as well.
