A 40's Revival 7/7

Taken at a 40's event at our local Shepshed Watermill a few weeks back.  The personnel on the gate (see Monday) had changed by the time I left and this guy was looking after the collection of "voluntary" donations from visitors, at least it was free to leave, and to be honest, though not a large display I thoroughly enjoyed what I saw during my visit.

A fine series, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Ray.
Nice shot! I'm glad you had a good time there - I've enjoyed seeing the photos from your visit!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth, and it was only 10 minutes walk from my home which was good. Must go back again next year.

It looks and sounds as if you had a good day Brian. I wonder if any of the original Home Guard members are left?
Brian Walbey: I did enjoy it Chris, the watermill is only 10 minutes walk from my home. I suspect most, if not all, of the men in the picture I linked with my Father in will be long gone by now.
a real pair of old glasses
Brian Walbey: I think they might be modern with an old style look but that suit the part don't they.
It's interesting to redisover the old days. Hair styles and costumes are great.
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Jacquelyn although there does seem to be a great concentration on re-enacting World War II which i find a bit disconcerting.
enjoyable series Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Bill.
the white shirt projects an amicable attitude, Brian
Brian Walbey: Like the guy on the desk when I went in this fellow was also very sociable.

We have enjoyed it to Brian.
Brian Walbey: I'm pleased to hear that Pedroeric.
I'm sure that beard wouldn't have been allowed!
Brian Walbey: I think I agree with you Tom.
It's Mr Mannering smile Fine series Brian
Brian Walbey: There is a resemblance. Glad you enjoyed the series John.
I really enjoyed the series Brian. Thanks for sharing!
Brian Walbey: My pleasure Richard.

Glad you had a good time, Brian. It;s good, too, that such people keep history alive.
Brian Walbey: They have done this on one of their open days for several years now but this is the first time I have been, and it is only 10 minutes walk from my house!!
