A 40's Revival 6/7

Taken at a 40's event at our local Shepshed Watermill a few weeks back.  Needless to say the Yanks (apologies to our friends from the USA) were represented by quite a large contingent, this guy really does look the part, all he needs is the big stogie stuffed in the corner of his mouth to complete the scene.

...and a Davy Crockett hat, and a few scalps hanging off his pants belt...
Brian Walbey: You've been watching too many westerns Ray.
He doesn't need the stogie Brian... the look on his face says it all....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Indeed it does Peter.
That is quite a scowl... it's a well practiced Robert DiNiro look!
Brian Walbey: He's been practising it for years or doesn't like having his picture taken.
I like those little 'boat hats'
Brian Walbey: They do look like upside down boats.

They really do look authentic
Brian Walbey: Yes one of the best little tableaux there Chris.
"overpaid, oversexed and over here" to which the reply was "underpaid, undersexed and under Eisenhower"
Brian Walbey: The first bit was certainly true Bill, there were several American air bases round my neck of the woods during the later years of the war.

Getting things wrong as usual Brian.
Brian Walbey: They never break the habit of a lifetime do they.
..those aviator Raybans have been involved in most conflicts Brian
Brian Walbey: Indeed they have Juan, must be some sort of trademark.
Sloppy dressing like this would never have been tolerated in my day smile
Brian Walbey: It goes with the sloppy marching Tom!
Looks like an archetypal grumpy commander to me Brian, great expression!
Brian Walbey: Perhaps he doesn't like being photographed Fred.

Were they late getting to the revival, too? smile He certainly looks the part. Don't think much of his iPod, though.
A scene from any one of a hundred war films, Brian. Brilliant capture.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Graeme, I thought the same as you when I took it.
Quite a disenchanted feel to it Brian! Fine capture.
Brian Walbey: In a little world of their own I reckon Richard.
