Ulverscroft Grange 4/7

Moving into the field next to the one I have been in so far this week at Ulverscroft Grange this lovely wooded hillside is in front of one. This whole area is called Charnwood Forest and I guess this it what it looked like before the times of woodland clearances in years gone by.

I have heard of Charnwood Forest. Thank you incidentally for the railway model link yesterday
Brian Walbey: We knew little of it until we moved here in 1989, but it is a joy to have this whole area on our doorstep.

This is total rubbish Brian ... Where's the railway wagon?

Only joking Honest smile
Brian Walbey: The wagon was just off to my left never fear Richard. You may see it yourself one day should you ever venture out of the big city into these rural climes on your doorstep for lunch at Ulverscroft, just let us know when you are going.

Just the place for one of my walk about Brian.
Brian Walbey: I'm pretty sure you would enjoy a walk in "The Forest" but there are so many miles of footpaths I wouldn't know which one is the best.
I love the name of the area, Charmwood Forest. Very nice with the varied trees.
Brian Walbey: Strangely whilst there are acres and acres of woodland like this there are also large areas given over to farming which makes for a lovely mix of rural countryside set in among the hills, and it's all just a few minutes from us, what more could one ask for.
We could do with more of such woodland, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Indeed we could Tom, fortunately there are still quite heavily wooded areas within the area known as Charnwood Forest and most of the rest is farmland for both crops and animals.
Nice wooded landscape, with a great shape.
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely area John, acres and acres of woodland like this interspersed with fields and farms.
A lovely sight with the shadow play Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.

English countryside at its finest; can't beat it.
Brian Walbey: I couldn't agree more Alan, you get a small idea of what Charnwood Forest is like if you get a chance to glance to the West between junctions 22 and 23 on the M1.
