Staithes Re-visited

On 20th.March I posted an image of Staithes on the North Yorkshire coast and make no apology for posting another one from the same place. This time we were down in the bottom of the harbour during low tide looking up at some of the lovely cottages alongside the steep hill going up to the main road above.

Apology absolutely not required, the boats lead the eye in nicely making for a cracking shot.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Dave. I would like to go back and repeat the shot with modern equipment one day.
Very nice angle to capture the boats lined up
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chantal, it is a fine little place to go.

Who carried you back up the hill, then, Brian?
Brian Walbey: I was still young and sprightly then Ray, Maureen was about 7 months gone with our son at the time (1976), so I probably had to push her back up the hill smile

Haha at your reply on Ray's funny comment! This harbour village looks very English and I love the colourful boats bathing in the sun, but also waiting for the high tide. No apology!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Philine, it is a beautiful little coastal village.
I remember the shot you are talking about. This is a GORGEOUS SHOT.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Mary.
No need to apologize, this is a wonderful image!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth.
A wonderful image Brian. Your scan is perfect!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, I'm very pleased with the scanner I have now.

Well I didn't see the earlier one Brian so no apologies needed for me - looks very unspoilt!
Brian Walbey: It is a delightful village Mike although very much a tourist place these days.
Twenty years ago there was a sign in the river estuary saying that the local shell fish were polluted ...the silent enemy camouflaged by the aesthetics of the place.
Brian Walbey: I seem to remember something about that sign Richard, I'm not a great shell fish lover fortunately so I wasn't tempted to try any.
Charming shot - must get there one of these days.
Brian Walbey: Well worth a visit Tom, not far from Whitby and Robin hoods Bay etc.
Every time I see or go to Staithes I wonder if these boats have ever moved! Good view, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Yes I reckon they must be a permanent item especially for photographers Graeme.
