photoblog image From The Competition Folder 8/28

From The Competition Folder 8/28

A series of images I have used in my Camera Club competitions that I have not previously posted.

YOUNG GROWTH

Next to the Car Park at Kedleston Hall near Derby are these two trees, one only a few seasons old and the other well past its active life span.  I used this image for an "Old and New" competition although it wasn't picked to be among the awards.

Well...I feel I would have been tempted to mention it honourably, Brian.
Brian Walbey: How about a trip over to come and judge for us Ray, I'll tip you the wink which are my entries smile
It seems a perfect image to show old & new!
Brian Walbey: Yes I thought that also Elizabeth.

I find the old or almost dead tree more impressive than the young one -but they may belong together and the bright blue sky with some clouds is graciously smiling at them!
I really like the contrast here Brian, the verdant background emphasising the stark form really well.
Brian Walbey: I was a bit lucky with the lighting that day Fred.
It's a perfect shot for the theme.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Mary.
A wonderful composition for the theme Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.

Poor old thing! A perfect illustration for the cycle of life.
Brian Walbey: That's how I saw it as well Ingrid.
An original take on the theme Brian

Great colours well composed I like it
I really like how you've given the 'old' the more prominent position, Brian. It really stands out against that marvellous blue sky.
The competition must be stiff! I like your composition here smile
