From The Competition Folder 7/28

A series of images I have used in my Camera Club competitions that I have not previously posted.

TAKE OFF

I am not a great airplane fan, in as much as I am not familiar with the various different types, but this was one of a series I took at East Midlands Airport, Castle Donnington a few years ago.  There is an Aeropark for visitors set almost opposite the end of the runway and it is an excellent spot for taking shots like this.

It's a funny jet isn't it - with the little child like sketches on it!
Brian Walbey: I think this was the division of the airline with smaller planes, hence the baby logos to represent bmibaby.
Up and away!

A powerful shot Brian
Well taken shot Brian. I know nothing about aeroplanes
Brian Walbey: I know very little either Bill, although your knowledge of modern ones will be better than mine following your recent foreign travels. BTW I had a lovely email from Philine with the itinery of her next English holiday in which she is going to Hidcote among other such places. I guess she thought I would be interested as we have just been there.
Mrs Thatcher wouldn't like all these,in her words, silly logo's plastered over the bodies of planes. Bring back the Union Jack I hear her cry.

I've flown this airline once several years ago, The aircraft is a Boeing 737 and is now operated by the Russian airline Aeroflot. You've caught it well on take off.

Fledgling!
What a good view, Brian. The plane looks very purposeful and intent on getting away.
excellent utilization of that visitors spot. this is good length if you captured it at 45mm
