From The Competition Folder 5/28

A series of images I have used in my Camera Club competitions that I have not previously posted.

HIGH AND DRY

Taken just up the road from Ilfracombe this was at Watermouth.  When the tide goes out it is one of those places where you can walk about among the boats for this type of shot, a fitting image for BOAT FRIDAY I think.  We are away until Tuesday, hopefully fitting in visits to Charlecote Park and Hidcote Manor Gardens over the weekend, and then driving down to Cambridgeshire for a family funeral on Tuesday, but I have posted some images for you and will catch up on Tuesday/Wednesday.

I like it a lot, Brian. Graeme has a somewhat similar shot today.
Brian Walbey: Thanks ray, but his is not in such calm waters as mine, no walking up to his.
looks like fairly flat ground. good that you can get right up to these boats during low tides. nice image
Brian Walbey: I was there at just the right time.
The little bit of red, and the bright blue make this so interesting! Safe travels, so sorry to hear about your loved one.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth. The funeral is for an Aunt who was nearly 90, my Uncles tells me it would have been there 65th. anniversary in September, imagine that.

Views like this fascinate me. I would be on the shore just to see the tide coming in.
Wonderful colours and I am sorry to hear about your relative. Safe travels.
Brian Walbey: We never saw the tide in Astrid. The funeral is for an Aunt who was nearly 90, my Uncles tells me it would have been there 65th. anniversary in September, imagine that.

With the rolling hills as a backdrop, Brian, this is a most idyllic scene. Enjoy you time away, despite the reason.
Brian Walbey: We arrived there at just the right time Ginnie. The time until Monday is purely pleasure which we arranged once Maureen had come out of hospital. The funeral is for an Aunt who was nearly 90, my Uncles tells me it would have been there 65th. anniversary in September, imagine that.

I find Charlecote a bit boring, but I think you will enjoy Hidcote.
Brian Walbey: We shall hopefully find out over the next few days Mike, as long as they are photographic.

I like the contrast of intense blue and much green!
Brian Walbey: It was a lovely day and the sun brought out all the colours.

I will visit Hidcote Manor Gardens in June, too! I wish you a lovely Pentecost weekend! It is one of my most favourite feasts in the church and in the nature.
Brian Walbey: I hope we get to Hidcote although there are some other gardens next door called Kiftsgate Court. Our friends tell us those gardens are the better of the two but Hidcote has the better tearoom!
A well-deserved bit of time off. Good for you. Nice boat Friday.
Brian Walbey: I think we need a bit of a break Mary, Maureen has got over her operation fairly well so far but we haven't even had a night away for some months. Sadly the funeral on Tuesday is an unexpected add-on and is in another part of the country meaning more travelling than first planned.
not likely to go out this weekend smile
A fine boat Friday Brian!
A beautiful shot Brian the bright colours and the composition, all a delight smile
Good boat picture Brian, but would judge like it? Unlike Blackdog I have found Charlcote quite interesting,
Brian Walbey: Yes we also found Charlecote a great place to visit Les, very photogenic and the nearby church is a charming place as well.
Have a good trip Brian. Hidcote should be looking good after this spell of fine weather
Brian Walbey: We had a great time Bill although my health let me down as you will read today (Wednesday), but Hidcote was beautiful and Charlecote really was worth the visit, so I took loads of pictures.
Against the blues and greens the little orange buoy makes s really good stand out point, Brian.
A good Boat Friday image. I like it when boats are photographed out of the water.
