A Glimpse At Minehead 6/7

The major footpath called the South West Coastal Path begins or finishes at Minehead, depending of course in which direction you are walking.  This novel sculpture stands at the start/finish of the walk along the sea front promenade and from here to the other end a walker would have to cover 630 miles of beautiful scenery, charming villages, and challenging walking.

I like this sculpture, Brian, and your image of it.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ray.
I like when a community takes pride in what it uniquely has to offer! Great shot!
Brian Walbey: Yes and this is in a very nice spot right on the seafront.
... and you walked it all didn't you Brian.
Brian Walbey: My conscience won't let me tell a lie Richard, no! About a mile or so I should think.
... And I hope that you'll show us some beautiful images of these sceneries..

Un saludo!
Brian Walbey: Er no Eduardo, we walked a short way but advancing years rule out any serious walking sadly.
I like the art piece
Brian Walbey: Yes it's quite good isn't it.
Certainly an eye catching piece Brian
Brian Walbey: It is Bill and the other side is completely different to the side I have shown.

A fine & inspiring sculpture Brian. I know a number of people who have completed that entire walk!
Brian Walbey: I guess the walk will take one through some fine parts of the coastline, I guess it's one of those things one does in bits, like Alan with the path he is doing in bits.
I would love to take this walk.. Interesting sculpture.
Brian Walbey: I would like to be young and fit enough to do the walk Mary which is, of course, not quite the same thing as wanting to do all the walk!

Walked it to Porlock Brian years ago breath taking up on the cliffs.
Brian Walbey: I can imagine that was a nice walk.
Like the sculpture - the idea of the map gives a impression of the distance to be covered!
Brian Walbey: Yes it's quite an interesting sculpture isn't it.

I remember to have seen this interesting sculpture before, I like your angle - I wandered along some stretches of this wonderful South West Coastal Path (NT?): with its grandious views!
Brian Walbey: I guess to do the whole walk would take a long time. but what an achievement it would be.

What a strange idea, a bit literal smile
Brian Walbey: It is most unusual isn't it.
I really like this sculpture Brian!
Very nicely captured.
Brian Walbey: Yes quite natty isn't it, thanks for your comment Richard.
Challenging, indeed, lugging a map like that about.
Brian Walbey: Bit of a job to fold up and put in the pocket !

Slightly bigger (and heavier) than the maps I'm more used to. I've done probably 150 miles of the SW Path (mostly from either end) in the past 40 years or so but unlikely to complete it!
Brian Walbey: I guess it is Alan. I thought you might well have walked a fair bit of this footpath.
