photoblog image A Glimpse At Minehead 2/7

A Glimpse At Minehead 2/7

I mentioned yesterday that Minehead is the main centre for the West Somerset Railway and in the background is the old station building from when it was the original Minehead Railway that opened in 1874 and closed in 1971. Since reopening there has been a lot of extension building and I quite liked this angle which had the old building framed by the covered walkway of the new part. I used a print of this photo at my Camera Club recently but sadly it didn’t warrant an award.

Good POV
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chantal.
Very good perspective here Brian.
Brian Walbey: Yes it caught my eye, although I guess others will have seen this angle before me.

Agreed Brian: they've spent a lot of money on this
Brian Walbey: I thought it was all very smart Chris, and it seemed not to clash with the old but just give an up-to date feel with the cafe across the way.
Nice perspective and colours Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Fred.

Looks like a good shot to me, Brian.
Brian Walbey: It wasn't the Judge didn't like it but it didn't rate being one of the top three on the night, sob sob!

Brian Walbey: Thanks Peter. It wasn't the Judge didn't like it but it didn't rate being one of the top three on the night, sob sob!
You can't win them all. I must go to the West Somerset one day
Brian Walbey: It wasn't the Judge didn't like it but it didn't rate being one of the top three on the night, sob sob! I enjoyed our ride there with the group from church we holidayed with, our Minister booked the ride and arranged for a Strawberry Cream Tea to be served on the return journey, very tasty.

I like your POV Brian, with the roof and paving taking me to the old station smile
Brian Walbey: Yes it caught my eye although I bet I'm not the first to see this composition.
A wonderful perspective shot Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Richard.
Nice juxtaposition of the old and new. Cracking little railway as well! Cheers, Dave.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Dave. We very much enjoyed our ride on the railway, we were with a party and had a Strawberry cream Tea on the return journey, delicious.

I like the structure, leading lines and colour. Old versus new also. Good image Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks John, your description was what caught my eye with this composition.
I like the way you've framed it
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Elizabeth.
