Maureen's Afternoon Out 1/7

A couple of weeks ago Maureen was taken to see the Spring flowers at Felley Priory, just off Junction 27 of the M1, and all this weeks postings are pictures taken by her during the visit.  She used my new little "toy", a Fuji Finepix JX320 compact, which is so small it will fit easily inside a jacket pocket.

I have long wondered about "...host of golden daffodils...", Brian...I think Maureen has captured it!
Brian Walbey: More than a host I think Ray, more a profusion.
Well done Maureen! Beautiful gardens!
Brian Walbey: Hopefully I will be returning to these gardens with Maureen during the summer, this was more or less a ladies only outing from our church.
In Maureen's capable hands it is doing a fine pic!
Brian Walbey: Yes I was quite pleased when I saw the photos , the first serious ones since I got the camera. Doesn't it look a picture though, this rain won't do them much good.
Nice Maureen... I hope you had a long walk amongst the daffodils.
Brian Walbey: I think they used the footpath along the side of the blooms Jacquelyn, but isn't it a lovely display.

Terrific stuff: a fine spring picture
Brian Walbey: It's a great display isn't it Chris, and I'm pleased with what she got out of my new toy.

Wait. Was this after her surgery, Brain, or before? If after, then BRAVO. That means you're both getting back to "normal." YAY.
Brian Walbey: Yes the Ladies Fellowship from Church went just over 4 weeks after her surgery so she didn't have to drive, and took her time strolling about. She drove to church yesterday, it's now more or less the 6 week point, so things are slowly getting back to normal, but it will be a while yet before she starts things like her Keep-fit class etc.

What a riot of spring colour this is; it must have been a joy to see. I'm pleased to hear that Maureen seems to be getting back to normal.
Brian Walbey: I was glad to see her photos from my new toy but sorry that I wasn't there to see this display for myself. It will be a while before Maureen is fully back to normal, she is following the hospitals instructions about doing stuff, but she is getting on well.
She certainly captured spring. I can almost feel it from this shot.
Brian Walbey: I was quite envious that she saw this and I didn't Mary, it was strictly a ladies only outing from our church apart from the minister and one driver.
excellent pov. a pleasant spot to be in
Brian Walbey: Yes hopefully we will both be going later in the year, apparently they have some spectacular displays during the summer also.
Plenty of spring colour here Brian.
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed John, I wish I'd been there but it was a ladies only outing.

Oh, this is spring in full blossom -and a tonic or elixir for your wife in sure. Wordsworth's daffodils come to mind:
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze....
A lovely photo by Maureen!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Philine. I'm showing a different angle she took of these tomorrow.
Brava Maureen! Delightful sight for these winter weary eyes.
Brian Walbey: Maureen says thanks for your comment Beverly.

Wow, Maureen, this is beautiful, what a delight to see all thee narcissus.
Love the colours and the composition.
I am glad to hear that you are slowly getting back into shape.
Take your time, before you know you will be in the Keep-fit class. smile
Brian Walbey: The girl did well didn't she, I was quite envious with it being a ladies only outing. She has started to drive again this weekend, her surgery was 6 weeks ago today which is when the suggest leaving driving to.
The quality of these little compacts has improved amazingly.
Brian Walbey: It has indeed Tom, but I can't get used to not having a viewfinder.
well Brian..., she is quite a photographer!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Juan. Before we had our first child she had her own SLR and was a member of the camera club I belonged to at that time.
Maureen captured very nicely this beautiful display Brian.
Congratulations to her.
Brian Walbey: She done very well, when I saw her shots i decided to post a selection of them for the whole week.
Oh wow, I would love to have so many daffodils in my garden. Great capture smile
Brian Walbey: Yes so would I, they look lovely don't they.
