Belvoir Lodge 6/7

There are a few sculptures and suchlike scattered about the Lodge garden and although this one isn’t especially artistic it just caught my eye as I wandered past.

Looks like it might have had something interesting on top of it, but it got knicked by some boisterous university undergraduates, Brian.

May I suggest you create a papier mache bust of Maureen, and affix that to the lonely pedestal on your next visit...that should earn you hot scones and favours for the next few months...
Brian Walbey: I might well earn the hot scones Ray, but favours at our age, well that would be telling smile

It looks to me as though it should have a bust on top. Perhaps it was stolen in olden days version of metal thefts? smile

I hop Maureen is feeling more comfortable now that she is home.
Brian Walbey: It hadn't actually struck me that this is a pedestal for statue, I wonder what it was. Maureen isn't doing too bad, fortunately not too much in the way of pain at the moment.
where did the statue go, walked off? smile
Brian Walbey: I hadn't thought about a statue with this, I wonder what it was?
It's lost its top I guess.
Brian Walbey: Yes it would seem so Richard.
Sometimes it makes me wonder why their there Brian forgotten works of art.
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Pedroeric.
Something seems being missing at the top.
Fine capture Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard. It hadn't struck me about a missing statue until somebody mentioned it earlier today.

It could possibly be complete in itself, and it makes a very nice corner, Brian
Brian Walbey: Yes I liked it without even thinking about anything missing.
I get the feeling that something is missing here Brian
Brian Walbey: You and several others Bill, you might be right, but I still like at as a feature.
I like walking around these gardens and coming across objects, such as these; creating some interest. It looks as though this one has been there for some time - nice capture Brian smile
Brian Walbey: Yes with the growth around the base I guess it hasn't been moved for a while.
I like when strolling through a garden, you simply come across something like this. Makes you wonder... smile
Brian Walbey: So do I Elizabeth, and I agre, it makes one wonder.
