Belvoir Lodge 1/7

Belvoir Lodge is, as you would expect, the Lodge House at the entrance to the drive up to Belvoir Castle in Lincolnshire, which is the ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland, and has been for around 1,000 years.  Back in June last year we attended a charity garden party at the Lodge on behalf of a Leicester based organisation called Vista, of which more later, along with some of my other camera club members and their wives, so this week you will see just a few of the shots I took while we were there, starting with this general view over part of the garden at the rear of the Lodge.

Maureen is due to go into hospital in Leicester for a few days starting tomorrow morning and when she returns home I will have to spend a good deal of time looking after her and the house etc.while she convalesces.  I have posted ahead for a few weeks, and plan to find time to look in at your pictures every day, but I hope you will excuse me if I am not able to comment quite so freely as usual, and reply to your comments as quickly for a while.  Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible all being well.

I have cycled around the Vale of Belvoir on many occasions Brian which is beautiful, but never summoned the energy to visit the castle & Lodge - look forward with interest to the rest of the series.
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely area isn't it. We haven't been to the castle and in general it is now not open to the public but now caters for the corporate and wedding market instead. Sign of the times.

I'm very sorry to hear about Maureen, Brian. I hope that it;'s nothing too serious although any hospital stay in not pleasant. I'm sure when she is fit again she will enjoy a spell in a garden like this.
Is that Percy Grainger enjoying a cup of tea? Marvellous shot. Could only be England. I hope all goes well with Maureen. Cheers, Dave.
Brian Walbey: Thanks David, this is Lincolnshire, all very English. Thanks for your thoughts on Maureen.
