Round My Way Again - Loughborough Park 1/5

From Long Close Gardens, Woodhouse Eaves (the last 2 weeks) we travel a few miles up the road and back into Leicestershire into Loughborough, the nearest big town in the area.

Queens Park is right in the centre of town and is a very popular place to visit at all times of the year because of its cafe, childrens play ground, lake, paths, seats, bandstand concerts and, beyond this lovely bridge the Loughborough Carillon, which is also the town War Memorial.

There are great views of the town and the countryside beyond from the viewing platform at the top of the Carillon and on the way up the inside some of the floors are devoted to a regimental musuem.  The Town Carilloner plays concerst quite regularly through the summer months.

You have prepared me well for this short tour, Brian.

I start a tour today, also...as does Richard...must be the season for it.
Brian Walbey: I look forward to seeing yours and Richards tours Ray, I'm late logging on today.
That is a rather fine looking building Brian

Bill (aka yellowbear) I have had to suspend yellowbear as it has been attacked by idiot spammers
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, one of the highlights of a visit to Loughborough, and its sounds good when the Carillon is being played. I got some spam type comments a while back, they seemed to get fed up after a bit fortunately, I wonder if the Johns could look into these occurances.
I would have corrected a little on the horizontal line
Brian Walbey: It is just a very slight tad out against the grid on CS3 Chantal, as long as the tower is vertical in actuality though smile

It's an inviting view, Brian, to keep walking through...!
Brian Walbey: Through and up the Carillon Ginnie, there is a great view from the top.

Now that is one grand tower Brian: a wonderful piece of elegant design
Brian Walbey: It is indeed Chris and there is a good view from the top.
Nice crisp bit of Topazing, Brian!
Brian Walbey: Just a touch Tom, as is my usual fashion.

a fine entrance way over the bridge -and what a sky- its blueness is sensational!
Brian Walbey: Yes this is a nice little corner of the park Philine and a fine bridge.
What a great tower Brian and you had a good day for it
Brian Walbey: Yes it's one of things things Loughborough is famous for Janet.

Well composed
Brian Walbey: Thanks vintage.
A great shot here Brian, with wonderful color.
Brian Walbey: Many thanks Frances.
Never been there brian ... let's make our meeting in warmer weather.
Brian Walbey: Yes I hope we can meet up in warmer weather Richard, it has been very dreary today.
the trees add a lot of interest to the picture.
Brian Walbey: There are some lovely trees in the park as a whole Juan.

Loughborough is also on my list to visit.
Brian Walbey: Like most Midlands towns Loughborough has its nice and not so nice places Chad, but I'm sure you would enjoy a visit.
Looks like a nice place Brian
Brian Walbey: Yes it is a very nice and well kept park John.

An invitation to walk over the bridge and discover what lies beyond.
Brian Walbey: The Carillon/War Memorial is very interesting Ingrid and there is a very good view from the top.
