'Scene' Around Whitby 7/14

A series of odd bits and pieces I saw around Whitby in May.

There is a butter market type building in the Market Square and this little cafe looked quite attractive through the arches, sadly of course the cafe has those horrible modern appendages of cables and boxes screwed to the wall.

Hmmmm! The bollards look a bit mock-vintage, too, Brian...

No matter...its a lovely white pigeon!
Brian Walbey: I think the bollards are to stop people driving down into a pedestrian area to the right.
Beaitiful composition Brian....did you at least stop in for a tea at this lovely Café.....petersmile
Brian Walbey: No we didn't have tea Peter, this is one of several in this area, a real visitors place. I was wandering with the camera whilst Maureen spent ages in a shop selling materials for card making etc., a hobby of hers.
nice framing
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chantal.

A nice posing Dove too
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Chris, there was an outdoor cafe to the left, it was looking for crumbs no doubt.
Good angle
Brian Walbey: Thanks Frances.
I am always suspicious of any place that spells shop with 2 ps!
Brian Walbey: I think the word you are looking for is pretentious Bill.
Those columns look rather ancient, Brian. Nice contrast between them and the 'Tea Shoppe & Cafe'.
Brian Walbey: Yes the columns are part of a small Butter Market type building from 1788. You can see what it looks like here http://www.endeavourcottage.co.uk/whitby-blog/whitby-marketplace.html
