Runswick Bay 3/5

The small cottages and houses almost tumble down the cliffside to the beach below and the only access to any of them are small lanes between them and flights of steps like this one.

It makes you feel you've gotten your exercise just by looking at it, Brian. grin
Brian Walbey: I reckon one would have to be quite fit to live at Runswick Ginnie, this is just one little corner of the place.
what a lovely little corner, I lvoe the rural and natural stones
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chantal. The whole seafront part of the village is like this.

Attractive! Probably quiet, too, with vehicles under control.
Brian Walbey: Quiet certainly Ray, but there is another area of the village at the back of the cliff area, up a steep hill, where traffic is as normal.

This must be a charming little town - with the "flight of (steep) steps" lined with a lot of flower pots - so lovely English but also with a mediterranean flair - this reminds me a bit of Rhye or Clovelly- if I remember correctly. Your holidays might have been wonderful - and what a fabulous weather!
Brian Walbey: This part of Runswick is lovely Philine, at least in the sort of weather we had. In winter, with North Sea gales I bet it is quite different.

Excellent - a village without cars would be perfect ;o)
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Mike, although the main part of the village at the top of the cliffs is just normal with roads etc., but still quite nice.
delightfully quaint corner
Brian Walbey: Thanks Martin. Just one little corner of many.
Delightful!
Brian Walbey: It is indeed, thanks Tom.

No good for carrying heavy shopping but great for aerobic exercise, I should think wink
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Alan, but I wouldn't have to move house at this place!
No need to frequent the gym, Brian, when you can get your exercise climbing flights of steps like these charming ones every day.
Brian Walbey: That's right Beverly, and you should see the hill leading down to this part of the village, steep is an understatement.
Nice colour, detail and composition.
Brian Walbey: Many thanks John.
3 lovely images so far Brian. Looks like somewhere I need to visit smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Pamela. It is a delightful little village, and even the inland part is quite pleasant also.
I'm just loving this little place, Brian! Great photo of this!
Brian Walbey: That's nice to hear Elizabeth, many thanks.
