Last year I posted a short series taken at Beacon HIll, a popular spot on a very high point in Charnwood Forest, just South of Loughborough. This short series was taken recently when we took our lunch up there on a nice sunny day.
This one is especially for Alan, the trig point marker at the top of Beacon Hill, 802 feet above sea level and the second highest point in Leicestershire.
On a really clear day, which this wasn't sadly, one can see right across to the Derbyshire hills in one direction, the Eastern Leicestershire hills in another, Nottingham, Derby and Leicester, and it is said, Boston Stump in Lincolnshire on a really good day.
