Attenborough Nature Reserve #2/5

Taken during a visit in April to Attenburgh Nature Reserve on the edge of Nottingham.  You can read about the reserve here.

This is the first of two different views of St.Mary's Parish Church, Attenborough.  The village of Attenborough edges on to the nature reserve and this fine tower and steeple can be seen from most of the reserve.  I went in this church last week but they were busy cleaning and arranging flowers so I couldn't get a decent set of shots inside, another time perhaps.

I like the let-it-be look of the reserve, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Yes this area seems to have been left to look after itself.

This is springtime: it's all a bit different now
Brian Walbey: Yes I guess the foliage types will have changed somewhat by now Chris.
Be interesting to see the same view in full summer and the autumn
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Bill. I was in the church last week but my friend and I didn't venture into the reserve, lunch time was fast approaching!

A pleasing composition with the steeple framed by the trees.
Brian Walbey: Yes I thought so too Ingrid, thanks.
Nice picture Brian. I like the way the layers come down to the dry grass in the front.
Brian Walbey: Yes it has been left to grow a bit wild Sheila.

I like the glimpse of the church through the foliage. i suspect in mid-summer it can hardly be seen.
Brian Walbey: I suspect you may be right Alan.
Love that untended look!
Brian Walbey: Yes it has been left to its own devices Tom.
Lovely scene, well pictured, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Graeme.
