We had a weeks holiday in Porthmadog, North Wales in early September and so for the next few weeks I will be featuring a variety of images and collages, and a mix of subjects, which I hope you find entertaining.
I will admit to this image being taken a few years ago but it fits in nicely with this weeks theme and is still in North Wales.
No.1, Elidir is seen here running on the Llanberis Lake Railway at the main Llanberis terminus. She was built by Hunslet in 1899 for the Dinorwic quarry; originally named Enid then later re-named Red Damsel.
Situated in the heart of Snowdonia, and with a terminus at the foot of Snowdon, the Llanberis Lake Railway offers a delightfully relaxed steam train ride along the shores of Padarn Lake. The railways website is here and I can vouch that it is a very pretty ride along the side of the lake.
