photoblog image Southwold Scene 4/6

Southwold Scene 4/6

Our visit to Southwold in July was quite spectacular in terms of the sea, clouds and wind, but as you will see there was a considerable difference once the sun came out.

This pub features in almost any guide book you find that features Southwold.  As you can see it sells the local brew made by Adnams, and although I didn't partake on this visit I can assure you it is a beer not to be missed.

If the fish stocks continue to dwindle they may have to change Sole to Soul and put a bit of green dye in the beer, Brian.
Brian Walbey: I don't even like to imagine green beer Ray.
I always drink Adnams in Suffolk.
Brian Walbey: Don't blame you either Richard.
Your image has me wanting to drop in for a pint of the local brew Brian.
Brian Walbey: And why not Scotia, mind you i bet you would enjoy a pint of Adnams.

Any pup that serves beer is a good pub...as you can tell I am easily pleased smile
Brian Walbey: And this is very good beer Tony.
Interesting shot.

We used to live in Southwold. There is also a place in East Anglia called Rhodesia. We have visited both places. We wanted to see what they looked like because we lived in Southwold (a suburb of Bulawayo) in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and wanted to see what they were like.
Brian Walbey: What an interesting tale Sheila, then you know how nice it is at Southwold.
I love the style of these street corners
Brian Walbey: Quite an interesting looking pub isn't it.

I have enjoyed this pub SO MANY TIMES over the years Brian....whimper!
Brian Walbey: Then go back again one day Chris before you shuffle off this mortal coil.
Got me dreaming of decent Fish and Chips and a pint of Bitter. Roll on next Spring and Summer
Brian Walbey: That sounds very appetising Martin.
Looks like a great pub, not many of them left now.
Brian Walbey: No there isn't John.

Sadly, it didn't seem to be so warm on this sunny day that you could sit outside the Sole Bay Inn - I like the inn signs (Adnams beer was already praised on some SC - blogs!) and the hanging flower pots -this is so quaintly English! A nice corner -picture!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Philine. The wind was blowing very hard and we didn't have very much time that day sadly.
Oh I could sink a pint of Adnams...a fine beer!

Nice picture too
Brian Walbey: So could I Bill, time didn't allow that day to go in for a swift half even.
I'd be happy to live up the street from that pub!
Brian Walbey: There could be worse places to live Tom.
I've had one or two Adnams and can concursmile
Brian Walbey: Snap to that Nigel, mind you I drink so little these days a couple might put me under the table!!
Nice place and nice image, a pity the benches outside are vacant on such a bright day
Brian Walbey: Thanks Avush. The wind was blowing quite hard and it wasn't very warm to sit out.
