Southwold Scene 1/6

Our visit to Southwold in July was quite spectacular in terms of the sea, clouds and wind, but as you will see there was a considerable difference once the sun came out.

This is view of the seafront looking towards the relatively new pier and you can see the difference in the colours of the photograph by virtue of the sun being out later in the afternoon.

Hard to believe there would be such a dramatic difference in so short a time, Brian. Lovely beach area regardless of the weather, though.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Beverly. We were a bit dissapointed, Southwold is a favourite spot for us and with only about 2 hours there (we were on a coach) the weather wasn't what we wanted.

The sun can be friend and foe, good photos
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed. Thanks vintage.

Brian Walbey: Lol. I never noticed that aspect of the two pictures derek.

Cripes, Brian...most of 'em have washed away...
Brian Walbey: I wouldn't mind betting some do in the winter storms Ray.
Does make a difference the old sun
Brian Walbey: yes indeed Bill as you will see tomorrow and Wednesday.

Thanks for showing, it is hard to believe what the sun can do.
In the Netherlands we have the same, one minute sun and blue sky and before you know rain, hail and wind....
Brian Walbey: We were just dissapointed Astrid we only had a short time there and it was very windy as well. This is the place where Richard T.takes all his seaside candids.

I love Southwold: a fine & civilised place - must go back next year
Brian Walbey: We like the place as well Chris, sadly the weather let us down during this short visit.

That's why the Sun is the King, Brian. smile
Brian Walbey: I don't know what we's do without it Ginnie.
Ha! ... Brian I've never seen Southwold like this [grin]
Brian Walbey: I don't believe that for one minute Richard, at least I hope you enjoy my pictures of the place.

What a difference an hour makes
Brian Walbey: A good difference Aussie, at least I got some more colourful shots.
very nice collage
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chantal.
We experienced a similar weather transformation there in September, a great place. I like the local brew -Adnams too!
Brian Walbey: Who could fail to like Adnams Martin. Nice little place isn't it.
Wowe it looks as if the huts might get washed away.
Brian Walbey: I wouldn't be surprised if some do in the winter storms Chad.
Looks like the weather we just had in Devon for a couple of days.
Brian Walbey: Oh dear Michael, not such a good break then.
spectacular
Brian Walbey: Thanks Marion.
The sun really does make an amazing difference to everything. Including our own moods.
Brian Walbey: Mood wise I went from grumpy to quite pleased in a short while Sheila smile
So beautiful when the sun comes out but I like the atmosphere when it goes away!
Fine collage Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard. The wind was blowing like mad as well, but I couldn't capture that in the pictures.
The sun certainly paints a different picture. Well illustrated with this lovely collage. (:o)
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Rosalyn.
The sun makes so much differance to a shot & our moods Brian, great collage.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tim, it does I agree.
It is often quite amazing how quickly things change, often on the turning of the tide. What a difference. The lower shot is very nice.
Brian Walbey: Thanks John. This is why the "experts" reccommend waiting around sometimes.

Difficult to believe its the same day, Brian; never mind so little difference in the time. Looks a "swell" place to be.

LOL at Derek!
Brian Walbey: We like Southwold Alan but it is quite a longish journey from us and as we were on a coach with only a short time there we were obviously dissapointed at the weather, it was blowing like biilyo.
Wow what a change in the light in such a short time. The change in sea clour is amazing.
Brian Walbey: I took some shots of the waves alone but they are not too exciting, perhaps I will post one another time.
Sunshine certainly makes a difference!
Brian Walbey: It certainly cheered us up when it came out Tom.
What a difference a few minutes make.
Brian Walbey: It did indeed Ellie.
I also love these views . A+ VAL smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much.
