Beacon Hill is one of the highest points in Leicestershire and is just a few miles from Loughborough. It has excellent views out to Nottingham, Derby and the Peak district Hills. A lunchtime picnic and walk in June allowed me to take this series of images.
As you can see there actually is a beacon on the hill which is lit at times of national celebration when streams of beacons are lit right across the country. Presumably in times gone by they would have been lit for warning purposes. The trig point marker is just visible at the top of the hill.
