The Behindness Of Things 4/5

A short series taken from behind the participants during our recent week in North Wales.

Back to a cold and windy Criccieth and the weather didn't stop this couple enjoying an ice cream whilst watching the waves breaking over the beach.

This is my 800th.posting on Shutterchance, time passes so quickly doesn't it.

I like the synchronised hand movements here, Brian. I remember going through Criccieth on the way to the Butlins camp at Pwhelli. We saw a band called "Rory Storm and the Tempests"; Rort Storm later went on to become Ringo Starr!
Brian Walbey: My word that was a long time ago, are you sure your younger than me smile

The plucky Brits on a summer day out! Congrats on the 800 Brian: a real milestone
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris. Their nether regions must have been frozen!
''We bought the ice cream in good faith and we are now going to d*mn well enjoy it.''

The stoic Brits ...
Brian Walbey: A very stoic nation Richard.

Congratulations on 800 Brian these guys look a wee bit cold here.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Scotia. It was a touch on the cool side.
An alien might wonder what they are looking at. They might expect the seat to be pointing inland for a more interesting view. Just a thought.
Brian Walbey: Behind me is a very nice hotel, we stayed in it a few years ago.
This is an excellent capture Brian.
Congratulations on your 800th!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard on both counts.

A real stunner
Brian Walbey: Thanks vintage.
Not the sort of shots the Welsh tourist board is looking for Brian smile I always marvelled that even in really nice weather one could have the beach to oneself.
Brian Walbey: Couldn't agree more John. When we holidayed in Criccieth a few years ago the beach was never crowded even on a lovely sunny day.
You just gotta admire their tenacity Brian, come Hell or high water we are going to enjoy ourselves. :o)
Another good one for the series, well spotted.
Brian Walbey: Thanks George. As Richard said we are a very stoic nation, comes with the weather I suppose smile
800!?! Amazing staying power, and not half bad photography either! (;o)
Brian Walbey: Many thanks Rosalyn.
A good picture to mark the milestone Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill.

I thought the lady would enjoy some nuts- oh good that there aren't any sea-gulls around them that like ice-cream, too, schwuppdiwupp, as I myself could experience last year - oh yes, you are right, the Britons are a "very stoic nation", short trousers in March and weatherbeaten - I'm just reading an interesting book by Kate Fox - Richard Tr. recommended to me- "Watching the English"! You did it , too!
My congrats to your 800th posting!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Philine.
That must have been a very nice ice cream, but it is nice to just sit and look over the sea and watch the weather turn.
Brian Walbey: The ice cream was lovely Cheryl, we had some ourselves later on.
