photoblog image At The Allotments 5/5

At The Allotments 5/5

We paid a quick visit to the local allotments during an Open Gardens weekend recently, I found it quite a good place for a variety of pictures.

To finish the series off an illustration of two different ways the gardeners have a water supply to their respective plots, one from the sky and the other from an underground pipe.

For the first time ever on SC.I have included a proper texture, as against a Photoshop generated one, in the background, a feature that I am not a great lover of in the general run of things.

I will be unable to look in to, and comment on Shutterchance, for a few days, I will catch up when I return, we are off to North Wales for a break.

Its a fine montage, Brian, and makes the Allotments look very neat and orderly.

LOL at Ray. Actually, that background perfectly fits these two images, Brian. Have a good few days away and come back refreshed.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie, I fear the weather is not going to be kind after this lovely week we have had.
This is executed beautifully Brian. Have a good break in North Wales
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill on both counts.
I love the presentation of this duet, with the background of the collage it is completely into theme

Brian Walbey: Thanks Tony.
I wonder which one is actually best for the plants.
Brian Walbey: Well I suppose in reality the water for either comes from the same place to start with Sheila.
I see the frost protection is intact Brian.
Brian Walbey: Oh is that what all that cladding os for Chad, I never thought of that.

They don't have watertubs in North Wales ... they have reservoirs

An interesting pair of pictures Brian. I like the background too, sets them off nicely.

Enjoy N Wales, don't forget your camera!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ellie. I'm taking three cameras, DSLR, Canon G10 and the small compact, sadly rain is forecast so they might remain in their cases.

The shed has some serious water butts there. I expect that they are dry now after the long dry summer. The tap looks well protected against the frosts.

Enjoy your break in Porthmadog.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan, we didn't get away today after all, Maureen was up with an upset tummy etc.overnight, so hopefully we will be off on Sunday, just in time for the rain!
Good couple of shots - enjoy the trip.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tom.
