'Scene' in Dorset - Swanage 7/7

This is the final week of this "longish" series comprising a variety of subjects and shots I took during our April visit to Dorset for our nephews wedding.

So to the Swanage Steam Railway station in the centre of the town.  I posted a collage of BR Standard Class 4 No.80104 at Norden earlier in this series and have included two further shots of it running round at Swanage.

In addition bottom right is Bullied West Country Class Light Pacific Eddystone and centre right is Bullied Battle of Britain Class Light Pacific  Manston, and a fascinating website with lots of details details about these and more can be found here .

The image top right shows the two BR Class 33 Crompton Diesels, No's. 33103 and 33111.

A summary of all the locomotive fleet at Swanage is at .

I've seen all these steam locos before - but all on other railways! It's a fine collection and we must be grateful to the efforts of those with the skills t orestore these and keep them running.
Brian Walbey: They have a good selection at Swanage Alan. The railway and Swanage were featured on a brand new edition of Coast on the tele last night.

A nice collection Brian, I enjoyed watching the steam train go through the countryside from one of the hills next to the castle.
Brian Walbey: Thanks John. The area around orfe is very good for train in the countryside views.
