'Scene' in Dorset - Swanage 1/7

This "longish" series comprises a variety of subjects and shots I took during our April visit to Dorset for our nephews wedding.

The weather was glorious, for late April, when we arrived in Swanage and from the seafont gardens I took this shot of part of the seafront.  We spent our honeymoon in Swanage back in 1971 and have been back several times.  It is a lovely little town with an excellent beach and more can be found out about it here

I can see why you'd want to come back here over and over again, Brian. I bet the beach is crowded these days!
Brian Walbey: By now Swanage beach will be heaving I suspect Ginnie but it is a wonderful one for children, we would love to take our grandchildren there but it is a long way in British terms, about 5 hours. I also think you girls would enjoy relaxing in Swanage and the surrounding area, it is queit, beautiful and very interesting.
It is a nice town indeed Brian. This is a very restful view
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, we never tire of Swanage, sad it is a 5 hour drive away.

Looks like a lovely spot Brian
Brian Walbey: It is lovely Tony, a great resort for children on the beach, and for us older folks very restful in the quieter part of the season.
You were so lucky with the weather that week. Look at those blue skies and all the people sitting on the benches.
Brian Walbey: We were very lucky Sheila, we sat on the beach the following day in shirtsleeves would you believe, in April!
Lots of memories for you then Brian. It does look lovely
Brian Walbey: Swanage certainly has lots of memories Janet, our honeymoon and the last family we took with Maureen's parents before they both died. If you ever get the chance call in there, I'm sure you would like it.

nice looking spot
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely spot vintage, lovely beach and in the low season ideal for we older folks to relax.
A proper seaside town, but it had seemed to get a bit 'down at heel' when I was last there.
Brian Walbey: I think I know what you mean John, it didn't deter us during our short stay though, hopefull we will go there again but it is a bit of a drag from the East Midlands.

That looks like a very pleasant promenade to stroll. Nicely captured Brian!! And congrats on a nearly 40 years marriage!!
Brian Walbey: It is a very nice place Marion, and yes next 29th.May is our 40th.anniversary, there are a good few couples don't even get that far these days sadly.
The kind of English summer of our dreams smile
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed Tom, this is one of those very nice but generally peaceful places without all the razzamataz, bingo etc.
What a lovely scene brian. Very nicely captured!
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Richard.
Honeymoon in Swanage! That was how we did it back then. Happy memories then.
Brian Walbey: Yes none of this foreign stuff Chad, our daughter is going to the Maldives next April for her honeymoon, what a difference.

A lovely view, Brian. Swanage is a wonderful little place and it does not seem too spoilt by "improvements". I hope this brought back lots of happy memories for you and Maureen.
Brian Walbey: We really enjoyed returning Alan and will hopefully get there again some time, it is ideal for older folks like us out of the school holidays.
looks a great seaside town, nicely shot
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely little resort Derek, not full of bingo, slot machines and all that.
