photoblog image 'Scene' in Dorset - Corfe Castle 1/6

'Scene' in Dorset - Corfe Castle 1/6

This "longish" series comprises a variety of subjects and shots I took during our April visit to Dorset for our nephews wedding.

The main attraction at Corfe is of course the ruined castle.  Here it is pictured on the road to Corfe coming in from the Church Knowle direction.

I took this through the car windscreen hence the less than good quality.  Also I will own up to the fact that the sky is the sky that was there from a picture taken at about the same time, but it isn't the washed-out sky that was in the original image.  I didn't think I was cheating too much :-)

We are in Suffolk until the end of the week, I will catch up with you all at the weekend.

Not cheating at all, Brian.

Wonderful castle...should be a fine place for bats or crows.
Looks like a good place to explore and ramble over. It was open to the public 50 years ago. Is it still?
Brian Walbey: Yes it is still open Sheila, but quite expensive to go in I believe. You can find out more here http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-corfecastle

Not bad for on the move Brian
Lucky not to catch reflections from the screen..Nothing wrong about the cheating sky Brian..It adds charm to the picture.
Good bit of twiddling for the sky - but the colours seem over-saturated on my screen - was that the result of shooting through the windscreen?
Brian Walbey: The image suffered by being taken through the windscreen Tom and despite all I am far from pleased with the final result, it does look over-saturated in the greens.

Super collections of green
Really like this Brian. You have done it great justice
Good view of Corfe, it's a pity the National Trust have become so restrictive about photography, trying to create a monopoly for their own library.
Brian Walbey: We've just joined the NT John and visited our first "free" house yesterday at Ickworth House. I understand this is the first year photos are allowed inside the houses but definitely no flash to be used.
