Church Visits - 2009 11/15

During 2009 I visited 15 churches and featured some of them occasionally on SC. in part.  This series will cover all of them, and for this series you will see that I have used a common theme of layout and presentation for each, which I hope you will enjoy, together with a short piece of sacred music that I hope you will find time to enjoy also.

I featured a slightly smaller collage of this church, which is called an abbey, last year and that collage is now on their website at  .  A very good history of the abbey and St.Editha is here   .  My choir learnt the piece of music attached today when we were invited to sing Evensong in Lichfield Cathedral just before Christmas in 2006, a very enjoyable experience.

I may still be away in Dorset today so will catch up later in the week.

Another good one, Brian.

The pic, top left, shows there is plenty of room to establish a little tea-room in the grounds, and a few tasteful outdoor tables among the graves.
Brian Walbey: Almost close Ray, the tearoom is around by the right hand side of the church in a little room attached on.

Very fine Brian: I am not sure I've heard of St Editha before
Brian Walbey: I hadn't until we went here Chris.
A lovely place Brian. Another great collage.

Having spent a week in NW Scotland, English churches are far more attractive generally than those up there. This is case in point.
Nice compilation, Brian
Lovely collection of images Brian. I thought I remembered the icon on the altar
Very well put togeather Brian. I like the little windows above the arches smile
A nice collage again Brian..You have shown some lovely buildings.
Up to your usual high standard Brian. By the way we went to a concert by the Worcester male voice choir and their gusts were the Hermitage Ensemble fro St Petersburg. If you get the chance to see them you will not be disappointed
Brian Walbey: Sounds as though you had a good evening Bill, certainly our type of thing. Believe it or not the Hermitage Ensemble were at a church not more than 10 miles from us on Tuesday last when we were in Dorset.
